The Disk Usage Explorer is designed to help identify which applications or users may be consuming inappropriate levels of disk storage, so that steps can be taken to address the situation before it becomes a serious problem.
It uses a familiar 'Windows Explorer' style interface that allows you to navigate either the usual 'tree view' of a disk drive or a pie chart representation of the largest files and folders at each level.
The pie chart representation of the total space consumed by a folder allows you to very quickly drill down into the folder structure of a disk drive to identify exactly what is consuming all your disk space.
Additionally the Disk Usage Explorer provides some reporting functionality, so that information can be exported to HTML, CSV or XML files for reuse in other applications.
Whilst it is primarily intended for use on file servers, the Disk Usage Explorer is designed to work with all versions of Windows and so can be used on both servers and workstations.
